Maybe, post-move, you could make a point of taking people out to places which are fun? Me and my girls are off car racing this weekend for instance ... it doesn't have to be anything pricey, either - one of my best dates last year was to an Anime exhibition in Manchester which was free ;-)
On the stuff front, every time I moved I used to make a point of getting rid of half my possesions because I know I hoard. Four moves in 18 months later and I'm considerably less cluttered >_
